FAQ

Here are ideas you may or may not have considered:

Prepare to be comfortable.
You'll be happier if you enjoy your photo experience - because it will show in your photos! Ultimately you'll always look your best when you're relaxed.

Clothing color & style:
Bare shoulders or spaghetti strap tops may make the subject look heavier. Try to choose solid colors. Stripes, plaids, and checks aren't too bad, but Logos and Artwork on shirts (t-shirts or otherwise) may draw attention away from your face. But if it's the t-shirt you wore all 4 years in High School, and it's "you", then great! We'll make it work!

Bringing with you things that represent YOU, for example:
Art supplies & paintings, Cheerleading outfit, Athletic Uniforms, Sports Gear, Favorite Hats, Fresh Flowers to give life to your portraits, Horse Tack & Riding Gear, Musical Instruments, Pets, Theatrical Costumes, Dance Costumes....Basically,anything that makes YOU unique!

Hair:
Wear your hair in your most comfortable style. Don't try a new hairstyle just for your session. And be sure not to cut your hair right before a shoot - give it a week or so to get used to.

Skin Conditions:
Don't worry if you develop a blemish. Portrait touch-ups are included in all packages.

Glasses:
It's best to not wear glasses in your photos - they often cannot be touched up.

Girls:
Makeup can affect the way your portrait looks. Fresh, natural makeup and "evening" makeup both photograph well.

Boys:
A fresh shave is a must. If you have a beard or mustache, trim it to your liking.

Groups:
Try to dress everyone in the same color family. All in browns, or greens, or whatever. Something as simple as everyone wearing different shades of one color can unify the image. If you dress too differently you will tend to look unrelated and out of place in a picture. Just make sure there is a common theme somewhere - all in blue jeans and solid colors, or same colored shirts, etc.

Hope that helps!
