Dillon

Whenever I seen Dillon, he's smiling. He is one happy person, and it's fun to have him interact with my kids. On this shoot, he was no different - and even offered a lot of his own creativity to the setting. My favorites are the pics with the cowboy hat. I'm a sucker for a good cowboy photo. =) He's a fan of Texas, and of course, I think that's great!

and they're done! Enjoy!!

There's no need to fear the sun!

Being a photographer myself, I like to take Hazel's school photos instead of buying the ones at school. This year, I have made a challenge out of it. There is a woman named Audrey Woulard who is an amazing photographer - her work has been published in Pottery Barn Kids, and many photographer's magazines, etc. You can view her work here . People on the web can't seem to figure out how she does it - all natural light, no reflectors, no flashes, just her camera and lens. I've read a lot about the things she has made known about her techniques, and have tried it out on these photos. She's known for lots of color pop, smooth skin in the faces of the kids she photographs, and doing almost no Photoshop tweeking (except for a color pop involving Soft Light, and sharpening). I too have done these same things with my Nikon Camera - and the same things in Photoshop. And I think I've learned a valuable lesson. You CAN shoot in broad daylight with the bright sun beating down on you, and not get raccoon eyes. It's amazing, and I'm excited to share these photos with you!

One Hot Momma!

Believe it or not, this is a mom of 6! What a hottie! She asked me to take these photos for her hubby, who is equally as handsome, as a Father's Day gift. What a great idea!

Ryan B

I have always been impressed with Ryan - his parents raised him right, to be very easy going with amazing confidence and generosity. He's one of the young men you really enjoy being around the second you meet him because he makes you and everyone else at ease. During our shoot, he pulled out his guitar and played a little as I took pictures. I was so taken by his ability to play and it made a fun little soundtrack to the evening shoot. I love these pictures with the guitar, and he's self taught! I grabbed his guitar to give a it a whirl at the end of the photo shoot, and discovered it was left handed. Abilities beyond me. He told me he's learning to play a right handed guitar too. Crazy. And this is a REAL left handed guitar with the cut-away on the correct side. Ryan is going to attend BYU and will be roommates with Michael V. (see below). These two confident and handsome boys are going to take the school by storm! Watch out ladies...
